MANILA, Philippines - Pasig outlasted Muntinlupa, 63-60, while Caloocan crushed Makati, 91-79, to share the Final Four lead in the 2010 Coca-Cola Hoopla at the Rizal High School gym in Pasig last Monday.
Martin Fajardo hit a jumper and Elmer Labis, who topscored with 15 points, split his charities after a Muntilupa turnover to clinch the victory for Pasig.
The Pasigueños, the East division champions, led by as many as 10 points in the third period, but had to hang on down the stretch to thwart Muntilupa’s rally.
The loss dropped Muntinlupa, the South division winner, to second with a 2-2 card.
Caloocan, on the other hand, dominated the game against winless Makati, leading by as many as 19 points, 65-46.
Five Caloocan players scored in double figures to hand Makati its fourth consecutive defeat, ousting the Central division champion from the title race.
