Asian ladies tourney gets going at CJH

-

MANILA, Philippines - Camp Aguinaldo I hopes to come out strong and gain the momentum as it opens its back-to-back title bid in the Asian Ladies Team Championship firing off today at the Camp John Hay Golf Club in Baguio City.

The Aguinaldo ladies, headed by Josie Untal and Matet Salivio, assembled a 420 total to post a 10-point victory over Valley Golf in the centerpiece Group I category of last year’s staging of the event spread over 54 holes.

Karen Kime and Josefinal Palumbarit hope to provide solid back up to Untal and Salivio as Aguinaldo girds up for a tight battle against the rest of the competing field in the four-to-play, three-to-count format event using the Molave scoring system.

Valley Golf, spearheaded by Arianne Salvador and Inez del Rosario, will lead the challenge together with host Camp John Hay I, which is expected to use its familiarity of the tricky, up-and-down layout as it tries to improve on its third place finish last year.

Also on tap are competitions in two other categories with Tagaytay Highlands I also seeking a second straight victory in Group 2 and Camp Aguinaldo 3 out to reign again in Group 3 of the event which features the country’s leading and rising golfing ladies from various clubs and teams.

Aside from the team championship, also up for grabs is the individual crown in each division.
