Thunderbird standouts pace World Slasher 2

MANILA, Philippines - Action in the 2010 World Slasher Cup-2 Hawaiian Invitational eight-cock derby resumes with the Thunderbird Winning Team member, three-time World Slasher Cup winner Nene Abello leading the second set of participants at the Araneta Coliseum.

Thunderbird Sabong Nation standouts defending champion Sonnie Magtibay, Sonny Lagon, Boy Marzo, Boy Tuazon, Dicky Lim, Sonny Lagon, Honey Yu, Pol Estrellado, Rey Briones and Nestor Vendivil combined for a total of 16 entries and dominated the first day of action that drew a full-house crowd.

Hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions and co-presented by Thunderbird – the winning formula, the WSC-2 will stage the two-cock semis for Group A tomorrow, while the Group B winners clash again on Thursday. The finalists from both groups collide on Saturday for the championship.

Among the top favorites in tonight’s hostilities are Atong Ang, who is fielding two entries with popular handler Boldyak; Bernie Tacoy, with an all-Ormoc Gold lineup; and former WSC champs Marcel Julao and Gengen Arayata.

Heading the foreign delegation are Wilbert LeBlanc, Richard Harris, Mike Formosa, Roger Roberts (Georgia), Ray Alexander (Alabama), Clarencce Perkins (Kentucky), Carol Nesmith (Oklahoma), Greg Berin (Australia), Jorge Torres (Californina), Zaldy Sandoval (California), Tony Ang (Taiwan), Chris Casilan (Hawaii), Rodel Costales (California), Jeff Hudspeth (California), Randy Hall (Texas), Tyrone Kennedy (Alabama), Peter Uren (Australia), Martin Barla and Jose Carcillar (Chicago).
