3 tracksters vie in Asian GPrix

-

MANILA, Philippines - A three-man Philippine team, led by sprinter Sheena Atilano, will compete in the Asian Grand Prix Series set in three different cities in India.

Atilano will join Joebert Delicano and Henry Dagmil in the first leg on June 1 in Chennai before the troika proceeds to Bangalore on June 5 for the second leg. The third leg will be held in Pune on June 9.

Jeoffrey Chua will be the coach of the three athetes who are expected to face stiff competition in the meet.

“I don’t know about their chances but this is definitely a good exposure for them in preparation for the Asian Games,” Patafa president Go Teng Kok said.

Atilano had a successful campaign in the recent National Open at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, winning two gold medals in the 100-m dash (14.30 seconds) and the 200-m dash (26.59 seconds).
