Patrombon falls in Milan tennis

-

MANILA, Philippines - Jeson Patrombon could not sustain his top form as he lost to fellow unseeded Vitor Galvao of Brazil, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, in the second round of the 51st Trofeo Bonfiglio at the Tennis Club Milano Bonacossa in Milan, Italy.

The 17-year-old Patrombon recovered after dropping the first set to force a deciding third set but Galvao stepped up to take the win eliminating the Filipino in this Grade A tournament, ranked one class lower than the Grand Slams.

Patrombon, however, remained in contention for a doubles crown after he and Richard Gabb of Great Britain shocked second-ranked Guilherme Clezar of Brazil and Yasutaka Uchiyama of Japan, 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.
