MANILA, Philippines - Atlanta’s Sean Patrick Sioco and partner Buddy Segui combined for 100 points as they topped the Architects Golf Club’s anniversary tournament at the Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay courses in Baguio City recently.
Sioco and Segui opened with net 48 points then closed out with 52 points to beat Al Tatel of Boysen Paints and Charles Cheng of Expert Interior, who had 105 from rounds of 45 and 60, for the two-man best score crown.
Boy Alcantara and Bobby Chua of Boysen Paints actually pooled a similar 105 (45-60) but lost in the countback for runner up honors. Tatel and Cheng had a net birdie on the 18th.
The field played under the Stableford with applied handicap system at BCC and under stroke play format at John Hay.
Wallguard, skippered by Jun Bonifacio with Daniel Go as co-captain, topped the team competition with 360 points with Virtuoso, headed by Bobby Chua and Mon Mendoza, finishing second with 353. Elastikote, led by Jerry See and Adones Baluyut, made a 350 and Knoxout of Jerry Cham and Nepthy del Rosario, had 338 to finish third and fourth, respectively.
Meanwhile, Baluyut shot a net 64 from a gross 74 to emerge the Group I champion in the AGC monthly tournament at John Hay. Daniel Go finished second with a net 66 from a gross 82 while Larry Santiago settled for third with a net 67 from a gross 82.
Dante Yatco made an 81 for a net 62 to beat Del Rosario (net 64 from gross 84) and Kado Gutierrez (net 65 from gross 85) for the Group II plum; Wilson Sioco carded 88 for a net 65 and nipped Benny Velasco, who also had an 88 for a net 66, for the Group III title while Sean Patrick Sioco wound up third with a gross 91 for a net 67.
Segui copped the Group IV plum with a net 64 from a gross 92, winning over Edward Lim (net 65 from a gross 94).
