Looney Tunes 3K fun run up

-

MANILA, Philippines - Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) is bringing back the Looney Tunes running series this month with the staging of the LT Active Fun Run 2010 which fires off May 29 at SM Megamall grounds.

The event is the latest of a series of running events held every week in the metropolis although the upcoming 3K race is exclusive to children 4-12 years old and limited to the first 1,000 registrants.

Registration is ongoing at Timex SM Megamall and ends on May 22. Fee is pegged at P350, according to the organizing WBCP. Assembly time is at 6:30 a.m. with the race set to fire off at 7 a.m. For details, log on to www.looneytunesactive.com.

A minimum purchase of P500 worth of Looney Tunes licensed products at SM department store character shops will also entitle one to a singlet to encourage kids and their parents to take up the current sports craze.

The Looney Tunes Active!, a Warner Bros. project aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle not only among children but also their parents, held a series of fun runs, including running clinics, in various schools last year.

Meanwhile, a bigger Looney Tunes Active fun run will be held at SM Cebu on June 5, featuring six events, including a novel 500-m run among 4-and-under-year-olds.

The other events are the 1K and 1.5K runs for 5-7, 8-9 and 10-12 age groupers, and the open 3K, 5K and 10K events.

Registration for the Looney Tunes-Cebu run is also ongoing. Deadline set on May 30 at the Timex Shop at Ayala Cebu and Watch Republic Cebu.
