PCSO Metro Manila women's beach volley on at Cantada's

MANILA, Philippines - Six collegiate teams, led by Ateneo and Adamson, will see action in the PCSO Metro Manila Women’s Beach Volleyball Open unfolding today at the Cantada Sports Center sand court in Taguig City.

Aside from Ateneo and Adamson, the other teams vying for honors are Letran, Far Eastern University, San Beda Alabang and Jose Rizal U.

Organized by the Joe Cantada Sports the tournament, sponsored by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Tanduay, Cobra Energy Drink and Speedo, is still open to Metro Manila-based teams.

Registration may be made through mobile phone number 0917833235) or at the Cantada Sports Center with deadline set at 3 p.m.

“We will have the biggest beach-inspired, party after the event. Everybody who loves the game is invited,” said chief organizer Edgardo Cantada.

Aside from the cash prizes offered to the winners, Joe Cantada Sports also tapped an all-female band to provide music and will serve free Tanduay mixed drinks and food to all the participants, officials and guests during the awards rites and post-event party. Even the venue, considered the most equipped sports facility south of Manila, has been spruced up for the event.

Gametime is at 4 p.m.

“This is also our way of expressing gratitude to our supporters who have made all our projects at Joe Cantada Sports successful. Let’s bid adieu to the scorching summer with a party among friends,” added Cantada.
