TRS-Castrol dominates GT races

-

MANILA, Philippines - The new Mazda RX7 made an impressive debut as it powered Tuason Racing School-Castrol Team’s amazing start recently in the 2010 Philippine GT Championship at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario, Batangas.

Multi-titled race car champ Mike Tuason steered the new Mazda RX7 to victory in the main race to banner the team’s haul of three titles, two runners-up and a third place finish powered by Castrol, Goodyear, Mazda, Coke Zero, Speedlab, Rota Wheels, Starbright Bodykits,Weapon R, Discovery Suites, Fremuff, OMP,Oakley, Toptul and C! Magazine.

Tuason completed the 18-lap race in 35 minutes, 55.425 seconds, 10.764 seconds ahead of William Tan in the main race. He also bagged the GT 300 crown over Leo San Juan and Jeffrey Villanueva in both the Sprint and the Main Races and captured the overall runner-up place in the sprint race.

“The victory came as a big surprise. Touring car races had been dominated by high-powered race cars but this new Mazda RX7 performed beyond expectation, winning over these perennial winning cars,” said Tuason.

“There had been problems along the way but its impressive clockings and the excellence of its racing technology proved beyond doubt its reliability, flexibility and competitiveness,” he added.

Tuason, son of racing legend Arthur Tuason, is also the team manager/vice president for technical and operations for Tuason Racing School, the longest running professional racing school in the country. He is currently in the US for advanced race training under world renowned Bob Bondurant.
