Jr TnT-QC rips Batang Air21

MANILA, Philippines - Batang Talk N’ Text-Quezon City and Batang Rain or Shine-San Juan picked up their second straight victories with imposing performance Wednesday in the Coca-Cola-Batang PBA Summer League at the old San Juan gym.

Jolo Mendoza turned in a league-record 33 points, John Vincent Gallego added 14 and Fran Louie Yu had 13 for the two-time defending champions, who pounced on Batang Air21-Taytay, 92-36, in Group A.

In a display of excellent shot-making the 5-foot-4 Mendoza poured 25 of his points in the first quarter and Quezon City, mentored by RP U-13 coach Mark Herrera, held Taytay scoreless in the period to virtually wrap up the match right there, 31-0.

Alberto Bordeos led the Batang Express (0-1) with 25 points.

The Batang Elasto Painters were just as impressive in their 68-50 victory over Batang Ginebra-Cainta in Group B.

Tyler Tio scored 20 points and Mitchelle Ong accounted for 13 for San Juan. Mark Daniel Villegas scored 15 and Dominic Datu had 11 for the Batang Kings (0-1).

In the other Group B encounter, Batang B-Meg Derby Ace-Caloocan City clobbered Batang San Miguel-Muntinlupa, 65-42.

Junel Nacpil scored 16 points, Aljun Melecio had 13 and Patrick Cagara added 10 for the Batang Llamados, who bounced back from 58-69 defeat against Batang TnT-Quezon City last Sunday.

Patrick Allegre scored 1w2 points for the Batang Beermen which fell to 1-1 (win-loss) record.
