Milo, Amazona shine in Smart/Head jr tennis

-

PANGLAO – Lenelyn Milo went through two tough finals matches in the girls’ 16 and 18-under divisions to rule the Smart/Head/Chris Sports Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit 2010 here at the Panglao Island Nature Resort.

Milo survived a grueling three-set encounter with Sallydine Siso, 6-3,0-6, 7-6 (10-5) in the 18-under class then experienced another tightly-fought match in the 16-under against Chelsea Gacho, 6-3, 7-5, to complete a twin kill in this leg presented by tennis supporter Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman of Smart Sports in cooperation with Head, Chris Sports, Toalson and Manila Electric Company (Meralco).

Jeleardo Amazona bounced back from a finals setback in the 16-under boys’ division against Rogelio Estanio by beating previous leg winner Carlo Nono in the 14-under category.

Amazona was nearly shut out by Estanio, 0-6, 1-6, but proved to be too much against Nono, 6-1, 6-3, to join the champion’s circle.

Amazona joined Milo as the chosen top performers in this leg. They received brand-new cellphones and loads from Smart Communications aside from getting tennis equipment.

Also winning their respective finals matches were Arthur Craig Pantino, who nearly blanked Francis Gener Lambayan, 6-1,6-0 in the 10-and-under unisex class; Christian Fel Lopez who subdued Pantino, 6-0, 6-2 in the 12 boys class;

18 boys – Juan Paolo Cansino over Kurt Gerapusco, 7-5, 6-2 (18 boys) and Chelsea Gacho whipped Mykka Alpas 6-2,6-1 (14 girls).
