ICTSI jungolf circuit resumes at Sherwood

MANILA, Philippines - Eric Gallardo and Justin Quiban, members of the national squad competing in the Asia-Pacific championships in India next week, lead the cast in the fifth leg of the ICTSI Jungolf Summer Circuit starting tomorrow at the Sherwood Hills Golf Club in Trece Martires, Cavite.

Gallardo plays in Class A while Quiban sees action in Class B against a horde of Korean youngsters in a short 36-hole competition at the challenging Jack Nicklaus-designed layout which drew 75 junior players.

Gallardo and Quiban are part of the eight-player RP squad playing in the As-Pac tourney ion Bangalore, India from May 10-17.

The ICTSI Jungolf Summer Circuit is also supported by Philippine Airlines, Pancake House Group, Teriyaki Boy and Sizzilin Pepper as major sponsors. The other sponsors are Dynamic Sports and Leisure Corp., McDonald’s, Smart, Golf Depot and Pioneer Insurance.

Jed Dy, who became the only unbeaten player in the circuit organized by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines after Princess Superal’s shock loss in the recent Junior World qualifying, also tries to stretch his streak further.

The remaining events in the summer circuit are Canlubang on May 18-20, Faldo Series qualifying on May 24-26 at Tat Filipinas and Ayala Greenfield on June 1-3. To register text 09178841436 or email JGFP at [email protected].

Jungolf chairman Gerry Handog heads the As-Pac delegation. The other players are Jobim Carlos, Gio Gandionco, Gabriel Manotoc, Sarah Jane Ababa, Andie Unson and Daniella Uy.
