Tac holds air gun shoot workshop
MANILA, Philippines - Multi-titled pistol star Nathaniel “Tac” Padilla pursues his dream of developing future champions when he stages the first Tac Padilla Olympic air gun shooting workshop May 8-30 at the PNSA/Marine range in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Students from 23 schools have been invited to participate in the event which aims to promote the sport as well as the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among collegians and eventually organize the first PNSA-NYDP inter-school air gun championship.
Participation in the workshop is free, according to Padilla, rapid fire gold medalist in last year’s Laos Southeast Asian Games.
Only students aged 13-20 are eligible to join.
The workshop sked follows: Opening on May 8, first batch of participants, May 8-14, second batch, May 15-21, third batch, May 22-29, and awarding of certificates and culminating activity, May 29-30.
Air pistol and air rifle events for men and women will be contested in the inter-school Olympic air gun tournament.
“I have always believed that we can develop world-class shooters,” said Padilla. “Through the workshop, I know I can help produce our future stars.”
PNSA president Art Macapagal, who will give the inspirational message during the opening ceremony, echoed Padilla’s belief.
University of the East’s physical education director Rod Roque and National University’s dean of student affairs Richie Ocampo have confirmed the attendance of their students.
To register, a student must present his/her school identification card and certification from the sports director.
