Asian Hospital holds fun run for charity

MANILA, Philippines - The Asian Hospital will hold a fundraising fun run on May 2 dubbed the RUNew 2010, featuring running aficionados and health professionals at the Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Now on its second year, the event is part of Asian Hospital and Medical Center’s effort to instill among its patients and the public the importance of getting into a healthy lifestyle.

“As a world-class medical institution, Asian Hospital and Medical Center has always been strongly advocating healthy lifestyle among Filipinos to help prevent the rise of lifestyle-related diseases. So we’re once again taking this mission outdoors as we mount another fun run that will inspire families, friends and doctors to run for health and improve their lifestyle choices,” said Theo Seiler, chief executive officer of Asian Hospital and Medical Center.

Events on tap are the 3k, 5k, 10k and 16k. Registration is ongoing at the R.O.X. at Bonifacio High Street and at the Lifestyle Medicine Center at Asian Hospital. The event, organized by RunRio and backed by Filicity, Shell, 100 Plus, Timex, Summit, New Balance, Fitness First, PhotoVendo, and The Bull Runner, is also part of the hospital’s fund-raising efforts for indigent patients whose medical and surgical care is sponsored by Asian Charities, Inc.
