Canja repeats as Smart-Heat 14-U, 16-U tennis champ

-

DAVAO CITY , Philippines  – Jazsh Canja, the most outstanding lady player in the tournament’s previous leg, made her presence felt anew by ruling the 14 and 16-under divisions in the Smart-Head-Chris Sports Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit 2010 at Ecoland Phase IV Tennis Club here.

Canja proved to be too much over her counterparts. In the 14-under, she trounced Kendies Thea Malinis of Bukidnon, 6-1, 6-3, then flexed her muscles again in the 16-under by whipping Chelsea Gacho of Isabela, Basilan, 6-3, 6-0.

Jericho Painagan and Rosevel Ann Binondo were chosen the best male and female performers in this leg presented by big tennis supporter chairman Manny V. Pangilinan of Smart Sports in cooperation with Head, Chris Sports, Toalson and Meralco.

Painagan starred in the 10-unisex event, beating Arvin Cleo Binondo of Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte, 6-3, 6-4.

Arvin Cleo’s elder sister, Rosevel, survived his final match against local bet Dana Abad, 6-4, 7-5, to earn ranking points from the sanctioning Philippine Tennis Association and seats in the Junior Masters event to be held at the end of the year.

Both Painagan and Binondo received brand new cellular phones and loads from Smart Communications aside from tennis equipment.
