Top 8 MBT teams enter Lhuillier Cup

MANILA, Philippines - The top eight teams in the MBT-Below 6Ft Basketball League will vie for supremacy in the B6BL Cebuana Lhuillier Cup which starts on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Defending champion Chicboy of James Cafe and Mang Inasal-Nougat of Mike Mancilla lead the field that includes Far Eastern Surety and Insurance Co. Inc., FTA-Querubin, China Airlines, Every Filipino a Saver, Prima Pasta-MCS and KIA Motors-VV5.

Games will be played every Thursdays and Fridays starting at 8 p.m. Cebuana Lhillier is the league’s major sponsor. Backing the event are LWUA chairman Prospero “Butch” Pichay and Rizal Gov. Jun Jun Ynares III.

B6BL founder and vice chairman Nilo Fernandez, newly appointed B6BL commissioner Lee Soriano and technical operations director Peque Tan expect a tight race for the championship.

The regular B6BL divisions is scheduled on May 15 at Metro gym in Pioneer St.
