Toby's-Prince summer tennis starts April 24

MANILA, Philippines - Registration is ongoing on the country’s biggest and longest running tennis age-group tournament, the ninth Annual Toby’s- Prince Summer Tennis Festival, on April 24 to May 2 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

The tournament draws nearly 350 participants yearly, and counts among its more famous alumni Jessica Agra and Kyle Dandan, both currently playing for the Santa Clara University in San Diego, and Kim Ivan Saraza and Anna Christine Patrimonio, among others.

“Toby’s Sports continues its commitment to give our young talents the proper venue for the development of their sports talents. Our youth sports development programs such as the Youth Badminton Championships, the Junior Volleyball League and the Summer Tennis Festival is our advocacy to ensure our grassroots talents will be exposed to tournaments that will enhance their skills in their field of sport,” said Toby Claudio, vice president for operations.

The tournament, which features action in various age categories in the boys’ and girls’ divisions, is presented by Toby’s Sports and Prince in cooperation with Equipe, Kontrol USA, Philippine Tennis Association, and Futures Tennis Foundation.

“Sports Resources, Inc. (SRI), in partnership with our sister company, Toby’s Sports, is working hard to give the country’s young talents the experience they need. The Summer Tennis Festival is already on its ninth year and we at SRI and Toby’s Sports are dedicated to make the tournament bigger and better each year,” said Rod Claudio, SRI president.

Special games and raffle prizes will be at stake for participants, as well as an exhibit of the latest and the best equipment and apparel from Prince.

Entry forms are available at all Toby’s Sports outlets and can be downloaded on Toby’s Sports website and must be submitted at the Philta Office at the RMSC or faxed to tel. no. 525-2016 on or before 5 p.m. on April 22.

Entry fees are P300 per singles event and P300 for doubles. All players will receive one shirt before the first match.
