Pucay ties for 12th in Myanmar Open

-

MANILA, Philippines - Mars Pucay closed out with a three-under 69 and salvaged a joint 12th finish in the Myanmar Open ruled by Japanese Tetsuji Hiratsuka in runaway fashion at the Pun Hlaing Golf Club in Yangon, Myanmar yesterday.

Pucay birdied the final hole to buck a faltering finish that saw him bogey Nos. 13 and 17 after going four-under after 12 holes.

The veteran Asian Tour campaigner wound up with an eight-under 280 worth P188,145 to join eight others at 280, 16 strokes behind Hiratsuka, who blasted the field with a stirring 24-under 264 total after a 66.

He won by 10 shots over Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng, who had a 274 after a 73 while another Thai bet, Thaworn Wiratchant shot a 69 to finish tied for third with Australian Andrew Dodt, who had a 68, at 275.

Juvic Pagunsan carded a 73 and ended up in joint 38th at 284 while Tony Lascuña and Ferdie Aunzo finished tied for 47th with two others at 286.
