Smart-Head Junior opens at Digos Tennis Club

MANILA, Philippines - Action in the Smart-Head Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit resumes today with the country’s top and upcoming players seeing action at the Digos City Tennis Club in Digos City, Davao del Sur.

The three-day event, tipped to draw more than 100 players, serves as the third leg of the ongoing circuit that has produced the current toast of RP junior tennis – Jetson Patrombon and Casey Alcantara.

Presented by Smart Sports chaired by sports patron Manuel Pangilinan in cooperation with Head, Chris Sports, Meralco and Toalson, the circuit offers cellphones and loads to the best two players in every leg as well as 100 tennis shirts for the participants.

After the Digos stop, the circuit will go to Davao City for the fourth leg on April 15-17, to be followed by Lapu-Lapu City (April 20-23), Cebu City (April 24-27), Panglao, Bohol City (April 29-May 2), Dumaguete City (May 4-6), Bacolod City (May 8-10), Iloilo City (May 12-15), Baguio City (May 18-21) and Metro Manila (May 24-30).

Lynette Palasan and Carlo Nono emerged as the top players in the opening leg of this tournament while Chelsea Gacho and Jan Jeric Accion reigned in the second leg in Zamboanga City.
