SBP holds clinic for FIBA commissioners
MANILA, Philippines - The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas will host a FIBA-Asia commissioners’ clinic from May 4-5 in Manila for cage officials from various Asian countries to be FIBA-licensed commissioners.
FIBA technical director Ljubomir Kotleba along with other FIBA-Asia officials will conduct and facilitate the clinic.
“At present the Philippines has only one accredited commissioner and the clinic is part of SBP’s thrust to improve the conduct of basketball tournaments and games through improved training and licensing of basketball commissioners,” said SBP executive director Noli Eala.
“We also want to create awareness all over about the new trends and rule changes in the conduct of basketball games. Hopefully we can truly professionalize the career of basketball commissioners,” he added.
