Lagman, Sato share karting 2nd leg honors

-

MANILA, Philippines - Archim Lorenzo Lagman and Japanese Marino Sato split karting honors as they topped the second leg of the Pagcor Sports KF2-KF3 Cup Series at the Clark International Speedway recently.

Lagman, from Angeles City, took charge in the early going and went on to rule the nine-lap race in eight minutes, 58.809 seconds, 4.675 seconds ahead of Sato.

Franco Reyes of Jet Racing finished third while Fern C-PCR-Tough Gear’s Vrei AR Suba and Estefano Rivera wound up fourth and fifth, respectively.

Sato, on the other hand, ruled Race 4 as Lagman figured in an incident and dropped to ninth place in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Pagcor Sports and Aeromed.

Cebuano Tonyo Carcel of AUTS Racing took over and came nearly side by side with Sato along with Rivera who struck back from sixth to third.

But the young Japanese ace held back his rivals with defensive driving, winning in nine minutes, 5.764 seconds.

Lagman and Sato posted their respective wins as Race 1 winner Jette Calderon got tangled in a series of misfortunes while Indonesian Yasuo Senna Iriawan of Red and White Racing missed action.

Carcel placed second 1.347 seconds behind Sato while Rivera ended up third. Reyes and Christian Villeneuve wound up fourth and fifth, respectively.
