AdU upends SSC in Martin Cup

-

MANILA, Philippines - Adamson stunned reigning NCAA champion San Sebastian, 71-65, and San Beda tripped Letran, 80-75, to arrange an interesting semifinal showdown in the 5th Fr. Martin Collegiate Open Cup at the Far Eastern U Gym.

The Falcons’ victory was probably the biggest in this tournament backed by Molten and organized by Ato Badolato, Joey Lim and Kurt de Guzman since it came against the powerhouse Stags, the title favorites but were obviously burned out after topping the 2010 CHED National Games the day before.

Far Eastern U leaned on the prolific duo of RR Garcia and Pipo Nuondou as it edged Mapua A, 73-70, while Jose Rizal turned back a tough University of the Philippines, 61-59, to forge their own semis duel on Sunday at the Arellano U Gym.
