Vasquez shines in AGC monthly

MANILA, Philippines - Andres Vasquez carded a gross 88, good for 51 points under the Molave scoring system, and emerged Group 1 champion in the Architects Golf Cub monthly tournament last Feb. 19 at the Splendido Taal Golf Club.

Vasquez, a 13-handicapper, wound up just a point ahead of runnerup Ramon Jamera (91) and three points ahead of second runner-up Adones Baluyut (91) in the tournament sponsored by Boysen Paints.

Rogelio Bonifacio Jr. ruled Group 2 with 52 points, followed by Cord Guanco’s 49 and Ramon Lozano II’s 47. In Group 3, Stephen Sy won with 52 points, followed by Mark Louie Soriguez and Eymard Agbing’s 51.

In Group 4, Mike Tomeldan won with 52 points, towing Allan Garcia (51) and Juanito Beredo (49). Romulo de Jesus topped Group 5 with 54 points while Noel Santiago and Antonio Ong came in next with 49 and 48.
