Lyceum posts fourth win

MANILA, Philippines - The Lyceum-Jaguars extended their winning streak to four even as UAAP champion Adamson ended the three-game winning run of the Cebuana Lhuillier-backed Far Eastern University, 77-70, in the PWBL Burlington Bio-Fresh Cup at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig over the weekend.

With FEU’s top gun Raiza Palmera out due to injury early in the game, the Patriots posted the biggest win so far in the tournament sponsored by LWUA chairman Butch Pichay and Gov. Junjun Ynares of Rizal.

Analyn Almazan led the Lady Falcons, backed by Rep. Paul Daza, with 26 points while Annaregina Buendia chipped in 14 points to keep their semis bid alive.

With Karen Lomigda firing 16 points, the Lyceum-Jaguars outlasted Pascual-Lagundi, 61-50, in the tournament supported by Burlington Phils., BioFresh, Wilson, Everlast, Foton, Moldex, Atlanta, Nation, GSIS, Pagcor, PCSO, Province of Northern Samar, Asics shoes and Molten.

In other games, Team Army posted its first win by tripping the PMI Lady Admirals, 65-58, while RP backed I-Remit bounced back from two successive defeats with a 93-40 demolition of UST-Global Graphics, 93-40.

The highlights of the tournament are aired every Thursday at 10:30 p.m. on Basketball TV.
