MANILA, Philippines - The UE Jr. Warriors Team B, unbeatean since the elimination round, crushed St. Vincent, 68-45, yesterday and advanced to the final of the Northball Basketball Tournament.
“The players have been working hard to surpass the challenges that face them every time they play. I know it’s hard to reach this level, but, I have faith in my players. Although they are relatively less experienced, they show a lot of promise,” said head coach Mark Herrera, also mentor of the RP U-13 team and the Batang PBA grand slam champion Jr. Talk ‘n Text Team.
Herrera said his basketball program will now also involve UE elementary students, who will be joining the Small Basketeers of the Philippines tournaments this year.
“I will develop these young boys’ skills so they can be ready for the challenges and competitions they will face in the future,” he said.
Herrera said UE management headed by acting PE director Rodrigo Roque is supporting the program.
