Yakult 10 Miler draws 3,000 bets
MANILA, Philippines - The annual Yakult 10 Miler, the country’s first 10 mile foot race, and second longest running event in the country, flags off on March 7 at the Cultural Center Complex grounds in Pasay City.
The run now on its 21st year is sanctioned by PATAFA and will have some 3,000 runners participating including national athletes in the PATAFA training poll.
According to Michael Ong, Yakult Phils., Inc. Assistant Manager Sales & Planning, developmental cash awards, trophies and medals plus gift packs await top finishers of the 10 Mile, 5K, and 3K distances.
A special trophy also awaits the running group with the most number of entries.
Registration fee is P300. Running singlet is issued upon registration. All finishers will receive finishers t-shirts and a bottle of Yakult unique health drink with lacto bacilli shirota strain.
Registration is open for kids six to 12 years old. for the 3K run and 13 years and above for the 5K and 10 mile run.
Entries for the 3K run is required to submit a NSO certified birth certificate together with their school ID.
Defending champions Alley Quisay and AileneTolentino are expected to have their hands full in defending their titles against emerging new comers of the ever growing field of runners.
