In This Corner on NBN-4

MANILA, Philippines - It’s the Eden Sonsona special in today’s episode of the weekly boxing show Rod Nazario’s In This Corner over NBN-4 from 7-8 p.m.

Highlight of the program presented by Ginebra San Miguel, San Miguel Beer, Purefoods, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Biogenic Isopropyl Alcohol, GSIS and Petron is Sonsona’s second round technical knockout of Eilon Kedem in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto title fight and his first round demolition of Monico Laurente in December to win the RP bantamweight title.

Sonsona, 21, cousin of former World Boxing Organization (WBO) super-flyweight champion Marvin, was brought along by Pacquiao to the US to join him in training as he prepares against Joshua Clottey in a 12-round title match, where Sonsona is expected to see action in the undercard.

Also to be shown during the hour-long show was Sonsona’s win over Eric Barcelona to grab the RP super-flyweight crown, as well as his subsequent title defense against Robert Alanic and Marvin Tampus.

Other featured Sonsona bouts are the ones against Jhurriel Ramonal and Nino Magboo shortly upon losing his super-flyweight belt against Richard Olisa.
