Century Tuna stages Superbods Run Feb 21
MANILA, Philippines - Century Tuna will hold the Century Tuna Superbods Run 2010 on Feb. 21 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City hoping to attract not just running enthusiasts but top celebrities as well.
“Century Tuna has become synonymous not only to quality and taste, but also to health and wellness. It has become part of our commitment to inspire and encourage people to achieve a healthy lifestyle,” said Gold Tantoco, general manager of Century Canning Corporation, in the event’s launch the other day at the National Sports Grill in Greenbelt 3 Makati City.
“Through the Superbods Run, we aim to help people start the year right by attaining a healthy mind and body – the very qualities that represent the Century Tuna brand,” she added.
“This year, we decided to hold the Superbods event in Manila to prove being fit and healthy is a choice, no matter where we are. We can all choose to be fit the whole year through, not just during summer, but also whether we’re at the beach or in the city,” said Angela Gamboa, Century Tuna senior product manager.
More than fitness, Gamboa announced the Century Tuna-bankrolled meet is also a fund-raising campaign for the benefit of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), an international body devoted to helping abused and needy children around the world, and the World Wide Fund for Nature, a group working on issues for the conservation, preservation, research and restoration of the environment.
No less than celebrity endorser Derek Ramsay and Superbods 2009 winners Victor Leano and Theresa Fenger as well as Reem Chanco, who all graced the event launch, will run in the some events-3km, 5km, 10km and 21km.
A cool cash pot worth P42,000 awaits the 21km winner with the second and third placers pocketing P21,000 and P10,500, respectively, in this event sponsored by Century Tuna and Century Corned Tuna and backed by The STAR, Nike, Timex, Nature Valley, Gatorade, Globe, Solar Sports, Focus Media, Balls, MBC Health, Magic 89.9, Wave 89.1, Max 103.5, 99.5 RT, Jam 88.3, U92, RJFM, RX 93.1, Action and Fitness and Fitness First.
