RP karters prime up vs foreign foes

MANILA, Philippines - A slew of Filipino Karters will go up against Asian rivals in the 2010 KF2-KF3 Karting Series kicking off this Sunday at the Carmona Circuit Philippines.

The local bets will try to reassert their supremacy over their foreign rivals after sweeping both the KF2 and KF3 crowns last year in this event sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines and sponsored by Pagcor and Aeromed.

Roby Benito of Ready2Race, last year’s KF3 champion, will will join defending champion Stefano Marcelo of Marcelo Racing in bannering the country’s bid for the coveted KF2 crown.

Joining them are Ready2Race bets Juha Turalba and Karter of the Year Joey Orduna, Javi Benitez and Franco Reyes of Jet Racing, Formula SL champ Indy Villalon, Mike Fox of P1 Motorsports, VJ Suba of PCR-Tough Gear Racing and Andres Calma of Full Throttle Racing.

They will be going up against Japanese brothers Reo and Tsubasa Takahashi of Kuwayama Racing, Senna Sulaiman Noor of Indonesia and Rahul Raj Mayer of IS Racing Team who’s tagged as the top foreign favorite.

Mayer, 13, has had some notable achievements not only in Indonesia but also in the Asian Region as he emerged last year’s overall Formula 125 Open Junior runner-up in the Asian Karting Open Championship,

Defending champion Christian Gaddi leads the cast in the Mini-ROK Challenge together with RP bets Justin Monzones of GP1 Racing, Aira Medrano and Cadet champ Carl Pollington of PCR-Tough Gear, Mark Meynet Joseph, and Joseph Tumambing and Basti Escalante of Ready2Race .
