RTU pulls away in Softball Pilipinas

MANILA, Philippines - Rizal Technological University (RTU) Blue Thunder pulled away from the rest of the field with seven straight wins in the ongoing Softball Pilipinas, the country’s first semi-professional softball league, after it posted two contrasting victories Sunday at the Rosario Sports Complex in Pasig.

The Blue Thunder had an easy time winning over the Globe Asiatique Realtors, 7-0. Later in the day RTU eked out an 8-6 victory over Phiten -Air Force. It guns for an 8-0 card tomorrow against the league’s major sponsor LBC Hari ng Padala .

Phiten, which squeaked past the Realtors, 4-3 ,for its third victory, is at second place with a 3-3 win-loss mark, in a tie with Forward Taguig which beat LBC, 6- 0, in the league presented by Cebuana Lhuillier.

The GA Realtors are at third with a 3-4 slate while LBC is winless in six games.

The other games tomorrow pit Phiten-Air Force against LBC and Taguig against GA Realtors. Phiten-PAF faces Taguig in the day’s third game in a battle for second place.
