FEU, I-Remit take PWBL openers

MANILA, Philippines - Cebuana Lhuillier-Far Eastern University rode on a torrid fourth quarter shooting to score an 81-74, overtime victory over Team Army at the start of the PWBL-Burlington Biofresh Cup Sunday at the Metro gym.

The Lady Tamaraws fell behind by 14 points in the third quarter but Ryza Palmera, Allana Lim and Karen Columna combined in a fourth quarter rally to force the extension then came up with clutch baskets in the extra period to complete the come-from-behind victory in the tournament sponsored by LWUA.

Palmera led FEU with 34 points.

RP team-backed I-Remit of coach Haydee Ong relied on Treena Limgenco and veteran Cassy Tioseco to beat Northern Samar-sponsored Adamson, 66-61, in the event backed by LWUA chair Butch Pichay, Gov. JunJun Ynares of Rizal.

Other opening day winners were Lyceum-Jaguars, which beat UST-Global Graphics, 51-49, and Pascual-Lagundi, which outlasted PMI, 69-59, in the event backed by Burlington Phils., BioFresh, Wilson, Everlast, Foton, Moldex, Atlanta, Nation, GSIS, Pagcor, PCSO, province of Northern Samar, Asics shoes and Molten.
