Slasher Cup 'B' leaders eye finals

MANILA, Philippines - The chase for the final berths in the World Slasher Cup 8-cock International Derby resumes today with the Group B winners from the Jan. 19 elims clashing in the semifinal round at the Araneta Coliseum.

Top gamefowl breeder Sonny Lagon of the Thunderbird Winning Team, with his Swites (Sweater-White) leads the semis cast with his entry Kieffer San Lorenzo posting two wins in the elims. His other entry, Super Dave Kieffer San Lorenzo, scored a win and a draw.

Meanwhile, Big Dome owner Nene Araneta has waived the admission fee for all tourists upon presentation of their passports at the Araneta Coliseum entrance.

Also with two wins are Thunderbird’s Dicky Lim with his entry LB Candelaria Apr. 10 Winslet-ORC2 and Rey Briones with his bet Calayan Spartans, Scorpion of Ohana/Chris/James, Karamba RM of Rhemy Medrano, GPC Pik Pak Boom, JU Yari Ka of Allan Siaco/James Uy, BL Tono 2010-2 of Boy Lechon and Tono, Octagon Apung Tiago of Gemmy Coronel, CAT Paniqui Eagle of Peping Cojuangco, EYB Air Assault Red Gel of Edwin Baccud/Ampil Bros., MM Anima Strath of Mimi Itchon/Tiny Meneses, V-Tex & Nicavi of VG Lacson, and Bagay Farm Village of Bagay Bros. & Richard M.

The 4-cock finals is set on Saturday.

Hosted by Pintakasi of Champions, the event, which drew a record 240 entries, is co-presented by Thunderbird Bexan XP - the potent blood conditioner.
