Caging ushers in SCUAA meet

MANILA, Philippines - Hostilities in the 22nd State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association-National Capital Region (SCUAA-NCR) basketball tournament unwraps today with a heavy schedule at the Rizal Technological University gym in Mandaluyong City and other venues.

Defending champion Polytechnic University of the Philippines takes on Technological University of the Philippines at 8 a.m. and Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology battles Philippine State College of Aeronautics at 9:30 a.m. at the RTU gym.  

Dr. Jose Macaballug, president of host school RTU, will make the ceremonial toss during the opening of the basketball competitions.

Other opening-day basketball matches pit RTU against Philippine Normal University at 11 a.m., PUP against Marikina Polytechnic College at 2 p.m. and RTU against EARIST at 3:30 p.m.

Women’s matches will have RTU colliding with PNU and PUP squaring off with EARIST at the RTU quadrangle. 

Meanwhile, 12 matches – six each in the men’s and women’s divisions – will kick off action in volleyball, also at the RTU quadrangle.
