RP's best golf course hosts Chairman's Cup

-

MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of its recent honor given in the Golf Awards Night of the renowned magazine Asian Golf Monthly, the Mount Malarayat Golf and Country Club is all set to host an energized 12th Chairman’s Cup in Lipa City, Batangas on Jan. 23.

Mount Malarayat, which boasts of three beautiful nine-hole courses, was awarded the “Best Golf Course in the Philippines” and one of the best in the Asia-Pacific, much to the delight of its chairman architect Antonio Turalba.

With the distinction, the Organizing Committee is preparing a grand Chairman’s Cup which stakes golf carts from Pacsports (Club Car) and Turf Company (Texas Eagle) as hole-in-one prizes. Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza, Batangas representatives Dong Mendoza, AVT Properties, Inc. and Prudential Guarantee & Assurance, Inc. are major sponsors.

“The thing about this award is that I really did not have any previous knowledge about it. I didn’t even know that the Club was nominated. I thank Asian Golf Monthly for the wonderful recognition of Mount Malarayat,” Turalba said.

Turalba also said the Chairman’s Cup’s proceeds will go to the Turalba Foundation, which annually helps underprivileged students within Batangas province pursue higher education and/or livelihood skills training.

Aside from Sec. Mendoza and Rep. Mendoza, Mayor Oscar Gozos and Malarayat Board of Directors Col. Katy Katigbak, Joe Mercado, Teddy Salud, Alex Palines, Lito Follosco and Francis Laurel are expected to grace the affair.
