800 shuttlers compete in 2nd Go! tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Some 800 players from various schools, badminton clubs and private companies are expected to see action in the 2nd Go! Badminton Tournament on Feb. 27 and 28 at the Power Smash gym along Pasong Tamo, Makati City.

Eastern Communications, organizer of the two-day meet that offers cash prizes and trophies to the winners in the different levels, believes the tournament is a perfect vehicle to launch its newest products and services to the public.

 “We are very excited to bring the 2nd Go! Badminton Tournament to all sports enthusiasts. We know how popular badminton is to a lot of people and we are expecting more players will join this year,” said Alex Salud, director of product management and development of Eastern Communications in the PSA Forum Tuesday at the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) dining hall.

 “The event will also launch Eastern Communications’ newest products – prepaid DSL, powerphone, EvO DSL, and Go! Prepaid for our customers and business partners.”

Appearing with Salud in the session presented by Outlast Battery, Pagcor, Accel and Shakey’s is Eastern Communications executive Bobby Ferriols.

The inaugural staging of the meet was held in 2007.

Levelling is currently ongoing also at the PowerSmash gym.

Schedule of the event on the first day will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., while the championship rounds on the 28th is going to be a half-day affair.

During the tournament, players will also be provided with free wi-fi access, live video streaming for three courts in the event, video ads to be webcasted, real-time update of scores and/or team standings, and a live video streaming for the awarding ceremonies.
