MANILA, Philippines - Susan Papa Academy swimmers garnered 23 medals in the Sharks invitational swimming meet in Bangkok, Thailand recently.

All the Filipino swimmers who competed won medals. They are eight-year-old Inaki Lorbes, 11-year-old Emanuel Joshua Lorbes, 12-year-old Hans Ramos and 16-year-old Paul Jerome Carpio.

Inaki Lorbes emerged the most outstanding swimmer.

This time the swimmers competed without their parents, their participation supervised by Olympian Susan Papa, secretary general of the Aquatic Sports Association of the Philippines headed by Ma. Luz Arzaga-Mendoza.

“It was a great experience for the young swimmers who went to Bangkok without their parents,” said Papa, who also served as tour guide for the kids who visited the Reclining Buddha, Grand Palace and went on a river cruise to the Floating Market and the famous Central Mall.

“We ate good exotic Thai foods. The kids were very disciplined . They woke up early for practice and competed excellently,” said Papa.
