MANILA, Philippines - The Alabang Country Club, Inc. plays host to the country’s top junior golfers when it stages the annual Alabang Jungolf Challenge today. Tee-off time is 7 a.m.
The year-ending tournament usually attracts a sizeable field since it coincides with the holiday break of the kids.
The organizing Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines has received 90 entries, including Optimist International and US Kids world champion Mia Legaspi, European US Kids winner Carlos Philippe Palanca, in-form Miguel Tabuena and most of the juniors who represented the country in events overseas this year.
Jungolf president Luigi Tabuena and chairman Gerry Handog will be on hand to supervise the tournament together with Alabang general manager Cynthia Matias and assistant manager Bones Floro.
Junior players always look forward to this competition held during the holiday season since it also serves as Jungolf’s Christmas tournament, one of the major events in its calendar.
The ACCI board, led by its current president Dr. Hermogenes Villareal, is also throwing its full support to the tournament.
