Padit, Sabater top ABC bowl

MANILA, Philippines - Manny Padit of Philflex Wires and Cables rolled a 12-game series of 2727 pinfalls to top Group 1 while Tony Sabater of Firefly-ROYU, with 1787, bagged the Group 2 crown in the Architects Bowling Club’s annual championship at the Green Valley Bowling Lanes in Pasig last Tuesday.

Ritz Diaz of Emerald Vinyl scored 2592, Eugene Panaguiton of Hocheng Phils made 2552, Joan Mendoza of ABC Phils had 2528 and Hermie Prudente of ProActive Pest Control came up with 2521 to finish second, third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in Group 1, in the event sponsored by Boysen and Nation Paints.

Albert Ong (1691) of Boysen Paints, Paul Ayson (1656) of Crown Pipes, Zeny Prudente (1650) of Supreme Steel Pipes and Boy Roldan (1643) of Stone 2000 finished second, third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in Group 2.

Dennis Jalandoon emerged as 2009 ABC E.O.Y (Bowler of the Year) while Eugene Panaguiton gained the Most Improved recognition.

Meanwhile, outgoing President Romi de Jesus is inviting all ABC members to the 2010 ABC’s Bowling Season as ABC braces for its 33rd anniversary. Action in the event, backed by Toto, Atlanta Industries and SIKA Philippines resumes at 6 p.m. on Jan. 5.
