International darts classic starts at GenSan

GENERAL SANTOS, Philippines – The three-man team of Pabling Cadungcog, Robles Boyao and Nards Navarra came from a two-game deficit to beat the trio of Noel Malicdem, Rolly Coquia and Bennie Arcega, 4-3, to win the three-man classified draw of the P5 million MP International Darts Classic at the Lagao gym yesterday.

Down, 1-3, the trio rallied to win the last four games to pocket the top prize of P150,000. The runner-up earned P75,000.

The tournament, hosted by Mayor Pedro Acharon of General Santos, drew a record 193 teams despite the absence of chief backer Manny Pacquiao who is still in Manila.

Pacquiao will grace the awarding and join the competition.

The event is supported by Fundador, Robson Sportscraft , Chris Sports and media partners Manila Bulletin and Solar Sports.

Ninety-five teams joined the fixed four-man team event which saw the country’s top darts players in action.
