MANILA, Philippines - De La Salle-Zobel posted two big victories over the weekend to remain unscathed in Group B of the 17-Under (Competitive Division) category of the Milo-sponsored Women’s Basketball League organized by the Best Center (Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training Center) at the Xavier school gym.
The DLSZ girls survived a close fight over Assumption College, 59-55, before trashing sister-school La Salle College, 50-33, to claim their fifth straight victory in as many games.
They also dropped their Assumption rivals to their first defeat after four victories.
DLSZ’s record was matched only by Miriam College , which rapped San Beda-Alabang, 72-56, also for its fifth straight win.
In the 13-Under category, Saint Pedro Poveda walloped Southville International School, 58-6, for its fourth win in five games, just behind the 5-0 mark of Miriam College-A.
