MANILA, Philippines - The Palmer and Player courses of The Orchard Golf and Country Club are in top shape for the 13th staging of the Cavite club’s Founders Cup, its annual member-guest golf invitational, which fires off today.
The first half of the full-house 400 teams will be the first to test the perfect playing conditions at both championship courses today and will be back for their second round on Saturday. The remaining half will play Friday and Sunday.
Former President Fidel V Ramos, Finance Secretary Gary Teves and Rep. Ding Quintos head the list of VIPs in the tourney presented by Coca-Cola. Club officials led by board chairman Vicente Santos and president Conrad Benitez are also seeing action.
The field will be eyeing P3 million worth of prizes, including a Honda Accord, Philippine Airlines business class tickets for two to Los Angeles, EZ-GO and Texas Eagle carts and Asiana Airlines business class ticket for hole-in-one feats.
