Sherwood Chair Cup unfolds today

MANILA, Philippines - A brand-new Cherry car and a Texas Eagle golf cart are sure to spice up the 2009 Chairman’s Cup when it fires off today at the Sherwood Hills Golf Club in Trece Martires, Cavite.

Cherry and The Turf Company are lending their hand in the Chairman’s Cup wherein all proceeds will be donated to a relief-giving organization for the victims of typhoon Ondoy and storm Pepeng.

“This is a big boost to the Chairman’s Cup. In fact, a lot of companies are supporting us and their response is overwhelming. For that, I thank them all,” said Sherwood Hills chairman Robert John Sobrepeña.

A total of 150 participants, composed of 75 two-man teams, have already filled up the slots for the one-day event, which has Philippine Pro-Am Golf Foundation as presenter. Leading golf course maintenance company Golforce Inc., Federal Management, Club Leisure, CJH Dev. Co., CJH Golf Club, Manila Southwoods, Isuzu Philippines (D-Max 4x2) are major sponsors.

Also on the same day of the Chairman’s Cup, Sherwood Hills’ newly refurbished driving range will be inaugurated by club’s board, members and guests.
