Cebuana nine tops slo-pitch regular season

MANILA, Philippines - The play-off games of the 2009 ENTOM-Manila Slo-pitch Softball League (MSSL) will start this Sunday at the Rosario Sports Complex in Pasig with a five-game schedule to determine who will join top teams Cebuana Lhuillier and Meralco in the finals play-offs set next week in the same venue.

Cebuana Lhuillier emerged season champion with its final record of nine wins and one loss to take top spot while Meralco was in second with its 8-2 record, third placer was Pera Padala at 5-5, followed by this year’s title sponsor ENTOM with a 4-6 win-loss slate.

Calamba was in fifth place with its 3-7 record while at the bottom was BYOB which only had a single win against nine losses.

BYOB will meet Pera Padala in the first game while Calamba squares off against ENTOM, the winners of these two games meet afterwards for their own battle for third place going into next week’s finals play-offs of the tournament also sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier, Pera Padala, and Le Soleil de Boracay.

The loser between BYOB and Pera Padala will also play the loser in the Calamba-ENTOM game with the winner to play the losing team of game 3 for the number 4 spot.
