Supercross races slated Sunday

MANILA, Philippines - The penultimate round of the 2009 NAMSSA Philippine Supercross Championship will be held Sunday with exciting races expected in various divisions at the Speedworld Circuit in SM Bicutan, Parañaque.

Registration and practice sessions will be on Saturday with the races firing off at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The overall winner of the 2009 NAMSSA National Supercross Series will win the Motocross Rider of the Year title and the Mayor Jun Bernabe Cup.

The event, sponsored by global heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Monark, will also serve as tune-up for the Philippine motocross team of Kenneth San Andres and Jan Carlo Rellosa for the final round of the 2009 FIM Asian Championship series in Al Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Dec. 5.

The NAMSSA is the sole body for governing motorcycle sports in the country today and is affiliated with the POC and the FIM.
