Olympia jins rule age group meet

MANILA, Philippines - Olympia’s prodigious jins dominated the recent Smart national age group taekwondo championships by winning a total of 18 gold medals at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

The Olympians bagged eight golds in the junior women and junior men novice and advance division and collected 10 other golds in the grade school boys’ and girls’ competition.

Olympia’s golden performers were:

Junior women (novice) - Feather Monica Rulloda and light middle/middle-heavy Sarah Gill.

Junior women (advance) - Fin/fly Rogine Wenbo, bantam Katherine Maristela, feather Weedee Valenzuela and feather Camille Acudili.

Junior men (novice) - lightweight Mikko Violan.

Junior men (advance) - Lightweight Rogine Lumbo.

Grade School (novice, boys) - Aryton Sikat, Group 3, Daniel Paringit, Group 4.

Grade School (advance, boys) - Jason Tabayoyong, Group 4 and Rhayzor Catris, Group 5.

Grade school (girls, novice) - Alyssa Caabay, Group 0, Arissa Turingan, Group 1 and Francheska Santiago, Group 2.

Grade school (girls, advance) - Alexa Rabino, Group 2, Stephanie Osio, Group 3, and Koleth Maristela, Group 4A.

Other winners in the junior men’s group were Patrick Sangalang, WTC-Karuhatan, fin (novice); Junji Lidasan, Claret, fly; Jovy Caina, JCL TKD, feather; Joselito Angate, Hwarang-Do, middle/heavy (all in advance), while the junior women’s winners were Carla Denna, Pio del Pilar, fin/fly/bantam, Camille Plomantes, Pio del Pilar, welter (both in novice), and Paola Amon, Elizabeth Seton, light/middle; Angelic Rodrigo, Miriam, middle/light heavy and Rizza Sy, JAO Warriors, middle/heavy (all in advance).
