Meteors, L'Masters dispute Liga berth

GINGOOG CITY , Philippines  – The Liga Pilipinas PLayoffs resumes today with the Smart Liga Pilipinas Conference III wildcard game between defending national champion Misamis Oriental and the visiting Cebu Landmaster-Mandaue side at the Arturo Lugod Memorial Sports and Cultural Center here.

The Meteors hold a twice-to-beat advantage over the Landmasters with the former raring to finish off their rivals to advance. A Cebu win, however, will set a winner-take-all match tomorrow at the same venue.

The series winner will advance to the five-team Super Leg that will determine the next national champion on Nov. 22-29 in Cebu City.

The Meteors dominated the Mandaue side, 77-55, in their first and only meeting in the conference backed by Smart, Molten, Accel, Calcium-Cee, Air21 and Burlington and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).
