Celebrities grace Timex Run

MANILA, Philippines - TV/movie actor Piolo Pascual heads the roster of showbiz personalities seeing action in the Timex Run on Sunday at the Bonifacio High Street in Global City in Taguig.

Other celebrities joining the event, sponsored by the world’s leading watch brand, are actress KC Concepcion, singers Mark Bautista and Eric Santos, Maricar Reyes, Hyubs Azarcon, Lino Cayetano and Ricky Davao.

They are among the 5,000 runners who will answer the starting gun at 5:30 a.m. in the big running event dubbed “Time is Running: The 2009 Timex Run with coach Rio de la Cruz and Piolo Pascual.” It is backed by Robinsons Land Corp., Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bar, 100 Plus Isotonic Sports Drink, Summit Mineral Water, Nesvita and Nike.

Events on tap are the 3k, 5k, 10k and 21k races with the top three finishers in both the male and female divisions in all categories winning cash prizes from the total prize fund of P60,000. They will also receive Timex Ironman Triathlon watches along with Timex Heart Rate Monitors and the latest Nike running shoes.

A photo contest offering P10,000 in total prizes and Timex watches is also on tap in the event also held to promote physical fitness among kids, youth and adults.

The youngest and the oldest registered runners will each receive a Timex watch and a gift pack from Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bar while largest group/club/team/company delegation will also get five Timex watches as prizes.

Twenty-six other watches, including a Timex Heart Rate Monitor and a Timex Expedition WS4, will be raffled off and given away as prizes for online games and special awards.
