Fancied Union, AFP duel in UFL

MANILA, Philippines - Unbeaten Airforce-Rider FC and Union-Rudy Project clash in a duel of fancied teams in Group C in the LBC-United Football League at the Ateneo football field on Sunday.

Airforce-Rider FC picked up back-to-back wins to show the way in Group C, beating Mama Africa, 5-3, and blanking Lions-Alaska, 10-0, to show the way with six points.

Union-Rudy Project, on the other hand, was held to a scoreless draw by Lions-Alaska then ripped Mama Africa, 3-0, for four points.

Gametime is set at 1 p.m. to be followed by the Group B game between Loyola ATR King Eng and Sunken Garden FC at 3 p.m.

The tournament is backed by corporate sponsors LBC Express, Inc., Rudy Project, Gatorade, McDonald’s, Nike Park and Globe.

Meanwhile, Army Philten, also unbeaten in two games, takes on Global Smartmatic (0-1) in a Group B match at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Ascom field while Navy Selecta, with a 1-0 card, battles Alabang Grins Orient Freight, also 1-0, at 3 p.m.
