Bagatsing, Hubalde head PBL Rookie Camp
MANILA, Philippines - Hyram Bagatsing of La Salle and Nikko Hubalde of Emilio Aguinado College lead the new crop of players hoping to strut their wares in the PBL Rookie Camp on Nov. 10.
A total of 56 players have already signified their intention to join the one-day event where aspirants are given the chance to show their wares in front of the coaches and their representatives during a six-hour activity starting at 8 a.m. The camp is tentatively set at the Jose Rizal University gym.
Also expected to join the Rookie Camp are 6-foot-3 Fil-American Robert Simpson and Carlos Fenequito of University of Santo Tomas.
The Rookie Draft is slated in the second week of November. However, only 25 years old and below come Nov. 7, 2009 will be allowed to join the drafting.
Players may send their applications online to [email protected] and should have PBL 2010 Draft in the subject line. Information to be submitted must include the following: name, address, date of birth, place of birth, citizenship, school or university he is currently playing for or had last attended, year of high school graduation and name of high school attended plus other pertinent contact details such as home and cell phone numbers.
PBL executive director Butch Maniego also advised the participants to bring a two-set of jerseys – dark and light – during the Rookie Camp.
