NCA holds big event at Ynares

MANILA, Philippines - The National Cockers Alliance (NCA) circuit will hold its final derby for the year dubbed the NCA Stag Big Event on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Competition is expected to be fierce with the winner to boost its bid for the coveted NCA Stag Fighter of the Year award worth P250,000. The runner-up will receive P100,000.

Leading the roster in the event sponsored by Sagupaan Complexor are Elmer Nepomuceno’s “Erwin” with 14.5 points, Gerry Ramos’ “Against All Odds” (13.5) and “JJT Archangel Oragon” by Jesry Palmares, Teng Rañola, and JV Magsaysay.

Patrick Antonio is also tipped to figure in the battle for the championship as he is coming off a victory in the NCA derby last Sept. 8. His entry “Sagupaan Complexor 3000” tied for the championship with Myr Aguilar’s “K Jr To.” Both entries got five points while Ramos’ “Against All Odds” finished second with 4.5 points.

Nepomuceno’s “Erwin” and Boy Jalandoni and Buboy dela Cruz’s “BJ Sagay” will also lean on their victory worth five points in the Sept. 15 derby.

“Scorpio Ronnie-VP” of Ricky Valencia ruled the NCA derby last Sept. 23 with 5.5 points while “JJT Archangel” finished second with five points. 

The entries “Erwin,” “Against All Odds,” “Jade Red MBE” of Arman Santos, and “RBP” of Rey Briones and Patrick Antonio also notched four points.  

The entry “Calfis LZ” won the championship in the Oct. 6 derby with 5.5 points followed by “Erwin,” “Jade Red MBE,” “K Jr To,” and “Ronnie VP-Binangonan” with four points.
